Namibia: A Success Story of a Developing Nation

Namibia's success derives from the resiliency of its people; the fact that the country is regionally known as "The Land of the Braves" is no accident. Namibia is known for its sound governance: an independent judiciary, respect for the rule of law, a functioning court system, low crime rate, and a highly educated young population. The country respects and protects the environment, rich in its minerals, landscapes, and modern infrastructure. Join Judge Angulo as he discusses how these factors serve as catalysts for Namibia in its economic struggle against poverty and inequality amongst its citizens.

Justice Angula is currently the Deputy Judge, President of the High Court of Namibia and an acting judge of the Supreme Court of Namibia.

Prior to his appointment, Justice Angula has served as an Acting Judge of the High Court over varying time periods ranging from three to six months since 1996 until his permanent appointment in 2016. He has practiced for 31 years and specialized as a commercial law advisor.

During his career as a legal practitioner, Justice Angula has served on a number of boards of companies involved in diversity of sectors such as mining, financial, telecommunication, postal services, water and water resources, through which he accumulated a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in both commercial and corporate legal related matters. Justice Angula also participates in civic and charitable activities such as chairing the Council for the Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia as well as the Automobile Association of Namibia for many years.

Justice Angula graduated from the University of the North (now University of Limpompo), in South Africa, in 1983 with a B. Proc degree.
