The Imagined Africa:Where did we go wrong in visualizing a continent and what comes next? 

Peter DiCampo, John S. Knight Journalism Fellow, Stanford  University. Co-founder of Everyday Africa / The  Everyday Projects. Peter DiCampo is a documentary photographer and co-founder of the acclaimed Everyday Africa project and its resultant nonprofit, The Everyday Projects. He began his career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Ghana and as a traditional photojournalist — now, his work seeks to deconstruct that experience. In his role as co-president of Everyday Africa, he is a contributing photographer, writer, curator, classroom curriculum designer, and editor. He is the recipient of grants and awards from Code for Africa, the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, Magnum Foundation, the Brown Institute for Media Innovation, Open Society Foundations, and Pictures of the Year International (POYi), and more. His photography has exhibited internationally, including in solo shows at galleries in London, New York, and Rio de Janeiro. He lives in Seattle and Nairobi, and is currently a John S.
