Robin Chapdelaine at the Journal of West African History’s 10th Anniversary Conference

On October 4th, Dr. Robin Chapdelaine, Associate Director of the Center for African Studies, represented CAS at the Journal of West African History’s 10th Anniversary Conference, held at Michigan State University. The one-day event, themed "The State of the Field, and New Directions," brought together scholars from across the globe to reflect on the current state and future of West African history.

Dr. Chapdelaine presented her paper, Reimagining The African Times Through Artificial Intelligence, 19th Century, offering fresh insights into how AI could reshape the understanding of historical narratives. Her work added a unique perspective to the discussions on reimagining archives and approaches to West African studies.

We are proud to have Dr. Chapdelaine and CAS contribute to this landmark conference, which continues to inspire new directions in the field of African history.
