Graduate Research Fellowships Summer 2009

The Center for African Studies is pleased to announce fellowships for Stanford University doctoral students, and graduate students in Stanford’s Schools of Business, Education, Engineering, Law and Medicine. Fellowships of up to $5,000 will be awarded for expenses related to summer research in Africa.

Eligibility:
Ph.D. candidates enrolled in any academic department at Stanford University, and students enrolled in post-baccalaureate degree programs in Stanford University’s Schools of Business, Education, Engineering, Law or Medicine are eligible to apply. Applicants must not have graduated before Summer 2009.

The proposed research must be carried out in Africa.

Award: Awards will range between $3,000 - $5,000.

Applications: Applicants are required to submit two complete application packets for review by the selection committee, including:

The completed application cover sheet (send application request to africanstudies [at] stanford [dot] edu (africanstudies [at] stanford [dot] edu))
Curriculum vitae of no more than 2 pages
A 2-3 page research proposal
Proposed budget
A current transcript (copy accepted)
