Documentary Film Screening of "God Loves Uganda" facilitated by Nicholas Opiyo

This event is part of the Spring Series on Civil Liberties and Human Rights Protection in Africa

Nicholas Opiyo, visiting Ugandan constitutional and human rights lawyer, and founding Executive Director of Chapter Four Uganda, will lead a post-film discussion. Mr. Opiyo was recently acclaimed for his successful challenge of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act before the Ugandan Constitutional Court. At Chapter Four he is engaged in providing legal support for human rights and pro-democracy activists.

About the film: In this Academy Award Winning documentary film, Roger Ross Williams explores the role of the conservative American Evangelical movement in Uganda’s turn towards biblical law and the 2014 Anti-Homosexuality Act, which proposed the death penalty for homosexuality.
